The Special Issue brings Science, technology and society (STS), science, technology and innovation (STI) and degrowth/post-growth research on the role of technology in society in conversation with each other. The SI discusses the common research interests of these different subsets of scholarship, while not ignoring their divergences and specific historical trajectories of their academic origins. Eventually, it sets a research agenda for analysing the question of technology in the post-growth scenario.
